  • Dr. Taras mahlay

    PRESIDENT, BOARD MEDICAL ADVISOR

    Dr. Taras Mahlay was an internist at University Hospitals of Cleveland for over 30 years. He has been an active member of the Cleveland community all his life. Since the 1990s, Dr. Mahlay has been involved in international physician exchange programs and sending humanitarian aid to low and middle income countries. With the full scale Russian invasion into Ukraine, Dr. Mahlay now dedicated all his efforts in helping the casualties of war. His focus is procurement of medical supplies, transporting them directly to medical facilities in Ukraine while promoting physician and medic training programs. In addition to his medical volunteerism, he is the president of the Ukrainian Museum-Archives in Cleveland and is the administrator and an instructor at a musical bandura school in Parma, Ohio

  • Galyna Zadko

    VICE PRESIDENT

    Galyna Zadko has been an active member of the Cleveland Maidan Association from its establishment in 2014. She was the President of the CMA from 2020-2023 and is presently Vice President. She has spearheaded dozens of projects over the years as she is in contact on a daily basis with multiple humanitarian organizations in Ukraine. Administrating events and fundraising has been her focus while transitioning this humanitarian mission into a multi-million dollar aid organization.

  • Nataliya Dudzianyi

    SECRETARY

    Nataliya Dudzianyi currently serves as the Secretary of the Cleveland Maidan Association since December 2023. Passionate about civic engagement, she previously held the position of Coordinator, demonstrating her dedication to the organization's mission. Nataliya's connection with the Cleveland Maidan Association began in 2022, where she volunteered at various charitable events, actively contributing to the association's initiatives for positive community change. As Secretary, Nataliya is an integral part of the non-profit's operations, bringing her organizational skills to the forefront and showcasing unwavering commitment to advancing the goals of the Cleveland Maidan Association.

  • NATALIE BAUMAN

    U.S. HUMANITARIAN PROGRAMS COORDINATOR

    Natalie began serving as the U.S. Humanitarian Programs Coordinator in 2023. Natalie holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from The Catholic University of America and a Master of Public Health degree with a specialization in Global Health Administration from the University of Haifa. Her background is in medical social work, with a focus on refugee and migrant health. Prior to joining Cleveland Maidan Association, Natalie completed health disparities research in Israel-Palestine. Outside of work, Natalie enjoys hiking, writing, and spending time with her friends and family.

  • DR. LAURA BUKAVINA

    BOARD MEDICAL ADVISOR

    Dr. Laura Bukavina, a urologic oncologist at Case Western University Hospital, brings a decade of expertise in surgical oncology. She has dedicated several years as a volunteer with Cleveland Maidan, contributing both on-site in aiding refugees and in performing surgical reconstruction for genitourinary trauma in combat patients. Additionally, she plays a vital role in coordinating the delivery of medical supplies to Ukraine. Her primary objectives center on providing world-class medical care in Ukraine and imparting current knowledge of genitourinary reconstruction surgery to Ukrainian physicians. This effort aims to enhance the quality of life for both soldiers and civilians affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

  • Dr. Natalia Fendrikova Mahlay

    BOARD MEDICAL ADVISOR

    Natalia Fendrikova Mahlay, MD, is a staff physician in the Department of Vascular Medicine in the Sydell and Arnold Miller Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Cleveland Ohio. She completed her professional training with a vascular medicine fellowship at Cleveland Clinic and was appointed to the Cleveland Clinic staff in 2011. Dr. Fendrikova Mahlay is the medical director of the non-invasive vascular laboratory at CCF and associate professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. She has been active in physician exchange programs and educational lectures in Ukraine.

  • PAVLO KARPIN

    Pavlo Karpyn is a founding member of the Cleveland Maidan Association and was elected as its first president in 2014. Currently serving as a board member and the logistics coordinator, he has played a pivotal role in the organization's growth over the past decade. In this capacity, Pavlo oversees the export of donated medical equipment and vehicles to Ukraine. Outside of his volunteer work, Pavlo, a successful business owner, passionately explores global affairs through the lens of world history and current events.
